All of us have looked at the stars and pondered on their beauty, how they got there, or where they are going.
Let’s apply that thought to ourselves. If we are all stars, what does our beauty look like, how did we get to where we are, and where are we going?
Here’s the breakdown.
OUR BEAUTY
Each one of us is different in our own unique ways. The lives we have lived, the styles we are attracted to and the type of beauty we view as beauty, are all different. There is this image of the perfect person, everywhere. Especially on social media. Seeing those images of what we think is perfect beauty ruins us. It makes us feel like we have to change who we are to match the stereotype, whether we want to admit it or not. It causes our brains to set this false expectation of perfection because honestly NO ONE IS PERFECT. We disguise our lives to have this perfect image but everyone is going through their own trials and sorrows, they would just rather hide them and act like they are not happening. I promise.
For example, many actors, who we have learned to love and adore, who left their mark on the world, and who seemed to be living a perfect life, suffer from depression. We, as a collective social group, never know until they are no longer with us.
How are you going to embrace your own individual beauty and share your light from your own star to those around you? We were made different for a reason. We each have our own light trail that is going to impact those around us and if we are scared to do so, we are hurting ourselves and those we have a mission to share it with. Be yourself. Find your own beauty, and embrace it!
HOW WE GOT HERE
Stars are created from concentrations of interstellar gas and dust which bind together at cold temperatures.
Holy cow, we relate to stars way more than I originally thought! We, each one of us, you, me, and Stacie’s mom, have ALL had our own version of “interstellar gas”, “dust”, and periods of “cold” that have come together to form our individual star. We have all had experiences where we have screwed up, learned, or are still working on, that are all apart of our star. Not a single one is the same. We all come from different backgrounds and different life lessons which makes us all different, yet we each end up as a star. A star. Different forms but we all have a light we are trying and striving to share. We need to understand that. We are all different but have a simple mission, to share our light (I know that sounds cheesy but just keep going with me) throughout our lives and we need to support each other. Love each other!
WHERE ARE WE GOING
In the day the stars are still there, but you cannot see them because they are so much fainter than the sunlight that is scattered by our atmosphere.
We tend to overthink our lives. But, we also tend to not care enough about where we are going. Some days, all we say is “screw it” or “I’ll try tomorrow” and then tomorrow comes and we say the exact same phrase. Don’t get me wrong, we all need days to chill and take care of ourselves and our mental well-being, but, do we need to do more to improve ourselves?
Like the stars, sometimes we lose focus of where we are going or what we are doing. We have this faint vision of hope, some days it is worse than others, but you know the stars come back out every night.
“Goals help us believe in ourselves. Setting goals for yourself is a way to fuel your ambition. Goal setting isn’t just about creating a plan for your life and holding yourself accountable, it’s also about giving us the inspiration necessary to aim for things we never thought possible.”
Where do you want to go? Who do you want to inspire? What do you want to achieve? What do you REALLY want to do with your life? Setting goals inspires us. If they are something we really want to reach, we will do whatever it takes to get there. We WILL run into other stars, have collisions, and possibly lose some hope at times, but that all makes us a tougher star. Take time to reflect. Recognizing what you want to change and learning from your past will only help you out even more. Without reflection, we can’t understand where we came from and where we want to go. As we all sing, twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder WHAT YOU ARE! What are you? Dream big and work hard. You will learn to love yourself even more, influence those around you, and shine your light! This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine… (Sorry, I had to, haha) Reach for the stars and do what makes you happy.
